Prospective borrowers fill out a simple form at one of the offices of participating neighborhood agencies such as:
- Family Ties
- IFCA (Interfaith Council for Action)
- Open Door Family Health Center
- Ossining CAP
- Dominican Sisters Family Health Service
- Ossining Childrens Center
- Day Laborers Association
Possible uses:
Loans from this fund may be used for one –time obstacles such as security deposits on a home or car, medical or dental expenses, fees to take the U.S. citizenship exam, legal help (to obtain a work permit or bring about family reunification), job related one-time expenses, or other one-time hurdles that impede the recipient’s ability to continue his/her life in a productive, upwardly mobile, or even sustainable manner.
Note: Loans are NOT available for ordinary business, educational or living expenses.
