Ossining Micro Fund

Offering No-Interest Loans to Individuals and Families in Need

A Project to Serve the Northern Westchester Community

About the Ossining Micro Fund

The Ossining Micro Fund was founded in October 2005 to reach out to individuals and families in need of a loan. Originally supported by the Ossining Rotary, the fund was created as a safety net to provide small interest-free loans to community members who encounter a one time financial obstacle or unexpected expense such as legal, medical or dental fees, a security deposit or a down payment on a car.

Mission Statement

The Ossining Micro Fund is a non-profit organization based on the “pay it forward” concept. We offer small interest-free loans to individuals and families who encounter a one time unexpected financial obstacle. When a loan recipient repays a loan by making small monthly payments, the money is made available to help another person in need. We can usually respond more quickly than a traditional financial institution. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization working to serve our community and enable its members to assist each other by fulfilling their commitment to pay it forward. We cannot consider loans in excess of $2,000, and most are smaller.
